About Us...

OUR COMMITMENT TO YOU
We will be totally straightforward in all our dealings with you. The number one priority for us is the Teacher, not simply placing you in a school where you might be unhappy. We firmly believe that a teacher who has been well informed about the school and is well prepared for life in the UK will perform better than someone who is ill-informed and placed in a school where they will be unhappy. They will have a good experience and do what they have been trained and enjoy doing.......teaching! There is currently an awful amount of "spin" and manipulation of statistics which can muddy the waters when teachers often want simple answers to questions such as:
1. How challenging are the pupils and will I be able to cope?
2. How much freedom will I be given to teach or will I simply be overburdened with paperwork and pressurised by a system which has a tendency to be blinkered by "exam results" rather than education?
3. What is staff turnover like at any given school?
4. What is the atmosphere like in the staffroom?
5. Will I have full employment rights?

WE WILL
1. Help you cut through the red tape and bureaucracy
2. Ensure that you have the right residency visa and work permit
3. Get you the best job to maximise your skills and income
4. Provide you with continuing advice and support after your arrival
In addition we will help you with all the other important issues that you will have to consider before your move is finalised.
Moving to a new life abroad is a complex and personal subject. We know that there is no substitute to having your own personal consultant to support you through the process of moving and once in post have someone to talk to confidentially if you have any ongoing problems.
With Euroteach you will have your own named consultant from within our team to answer your questions as they arise. Someone who is totally committed to helping you achieve your objective.
Our services are totally free to the Teacher.
FAMILIARISATION AND SUPPORT SERVICES
Eurotemp provides a comprehensive familiarisation and support programme for its teachers. In summary this includes:
1. Advice and guidance with the application procedure
2. Assistance with placement through our links with local education authorities and schools
3. Assistance with obtaining a visa, residency status and work permit
4. Assistance with obtaining a National Insurance Number. This is normally a time-consumming and irritating formality with you having to arrange an appointment to have your ID checked with the Jobcentreplus organisation who are understaffed and ironically themselves staffed with a high percentage of people from overseas! We have a special arrangement which spares you all of this annoyance and involves a simple form to fill in and an ID check at your local post office.
5. Assistance with opening a bank account. This is often cited as a major problem. It isn't by any means a major hurdle. You need an address, proof of ID and your employment contract and that's all. We bank with HSBC so if you have a choice we would recommend them, not because we endorse them but simply because we can make same day bank transfers free of charge which could be useful if you need a sudden unexpected cash advance. Transfers to any other bank take three working days and same day transfers to other banks cost £21 and must be made before 14:45. Transfers to other HSBC account holders can be made up to 22:00 and are free.
6. Advice on registration with doctors, dentists and utilities
7. Advice and assistance with accommodation. Finding somewhere to stay in the UK is not as difficult as people would have you believe. As we carry out background Checks on teachers such as Criminal Record Checks, Reference Checks and National Insurance Checks a simple referral to us will open doors to rentals that otherwise might be closed. You should be aware that accommodation is more expensive in the South of England especially in inner London.
8. We are able to put you in touch with other teachers, preferably from your home country (if you are an overseas trained teacher) who can give you practical advice to make your move a smooth as possible.

RESIDENCY AND WORK PERMITS
To qualify for residency and to obtain a work permit applicants must fulfill the strict requirements of the Immigration Authorities.
However, recent government initiatives and a UK-wide teacher shortage now mean that work permits may be available even if one does not otherwise have the right to work in the UK.
Teachers from the EU countries clearly are exempt from this requirement.
Teachers should consult the UK Borders agency (a link is on the Links page) for up to date information about the big changes to work permits effective November 27 2008.
In addition to the application form applicants are required to provide a current Curriculum Vitae (CV). We are bounds by the provisions of the Data Protection Act and the Teacher must give their consent for their personal details being sent to schools and their CVs (without personal details) being put on our web site.
